Day 139 - 154 plus a couple extra

See last post's introduction.

Day 139
Debriefing the What He Has Learned
Over October break we went to Washington State to attend the Family Economics conference and visit my grandparents. The conference was fantastic. I learned alot there and I will be sharing about some things I learned in future posts. We also were able to meet new friends and catch up with old ones.

Day 140
Taking a Walk in the Autumn Leaves
Washington is a beautiful state. It is very green and moist but they get some amazing fall foilage. While we were with my grandparents we did lots of nature exploring with them.

Day 141

 Bridge Shadows

I think I have already explained my fascination with shadows :)

Day 142
 Ancient Steps

Day 143
 Awed Hiker
Elianna and Nathan (and the other littles) were troopers on all our hikes. Elianna loves being outside so she thought all the exploring was great fun until we had to get back in the car to drive to our next destination ;)

While we were gone the government was shut down and our only encounter with that fact was on one of our hikes when the trail we wanted to hike was closed due to a lack of government funding.

Day 144
Flowing Waterfalls
One advantage to cloudy, rainy weather all year long is that you have wonderful waterfalls and rivers all year round.
 Day 145
 Twin Brothers

Day 146
 City in the Clouds
On one of our driving\hiking excursions we came to the top of Mt. W-.  There was a breathtaking view and out in the distance we could see Seattle in the clouds.
 Day 147

One day we went to Seattle and walked around the Public Market. It was a very unique experience. The market was unlike anything we had ever seen. We also went and bought coffee at the original Starbucks which I thought was very cool.

                                                                     Day 148
 Old Hat, New Hat

Day 149

 Sunset on the Hood Canal
In order to get to Seattle you have to take the ferry or drive all the way around the Hood Canal. On our way to Seattle we missed the ferry by 5 minutes but we were able to ride it on the way home. We were also able to enjoy the glorious sunset.
Day 150
 Dandelions!!!

Day 151
 More Dandelions
On our way home from Washington we stopped at Fort Vancouver. It was a very neat little history stop. It was the first permanent trade settlement in the west. It was an active fort up into World War 2. There was a huge field that was the parade grounds and it was covered in dandelions so we had a wonderful time blowing them :)

Day  152
 Loose Lips Sink Ships
When was that phrase used???

Day 153
Happy Siblings
This is also at Fort Vancouver. This picture is not posed; they were discussing the conditions of the hospital behind us.

Day 154
Autumn Glory
"And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the trees of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,  yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!"
Matthew 6:28-30
