Last weekend my family attended the Sound of the Trumpet conference. As usual it was a wonderful time. We heard messages from six different speakers (my dad included) and spent roughly two whole days fellowshiping with other Christians.
The weekend was started with a sermon by Mr. Morice titled The Battle Treasure of Manly Friendships. Did you know there is a theology of friendship and that the devil does not want us to have godly friendships? It was a very thought provoking message.
On Saturday we started bright and early. You can tell some people are still a little groggy. :)
Mr. Parish started us of with two excellent messages titled Men Who Keep Rank. I forgot to mention that the theme of this conference was standing together. Mr. Parish used military analogies to demonstrate how men in the church must stand together.
In the afternoon there was a women's session and tea. We heard a talk by Mrs. Walker on love and how it needs to permeate our lives to all those around us even those who are hard to love. While we were in the session the guys were taking a hike on the beautiful Parish ranch.
One of my favorite parts of the conference is serving the meals. I love being able to meet everybody at once while at the same time helping out. In this picture we are getting ready to serve barbeque chicken with potato casserole, salad, rolls, and cookies!!
Enjoying one anther's company.
In the evening we heard a message by Mr. Walker titled Finding the Right Balance and we also heard Mr. Reymundo's conversion testimony.
Saturday night was music night.
You can not have a Sound of the Trumpet conference without LOTS of oranges, :)
Pals and beloved friends.
Our wonderful piano accompanist
On Sunday Dad preached an awesome sermon titled Christ is All in All. None of my pictures turned out so you will just have to believe me that he did it. His sermon was excellent and you can listen to it as well as the rest of the messages from the weekend here
