Musical Monday: You're Island Through and Through

While Hannah, Mom, Grandma and I were on Prince Edward Island we saw the Anne and Gilbert musical. It was very beautifully done and the music was wonderful. Plus Anne and Gilbert is probably one of my favorite love stories ever!! Though it is one of the most frustrating as well (second only to Jo and Laurie)
Anyways. Here is a songs from the musical that captures life on Prince Edward Island quite well :):)

What has been your favorite song(s) recently?

The Last Two Weeks

The last two weeks have been exciting but oh so busy and crazy!!:) Here is what has been going on as told in pictures :)
School was kicked of two weeks ago. Mountain Home and Glacier had a very fun back to school night complete with balloon tying!! Elianna loved the lady bug that matched her dress :)

One morning Hannah and Sean treated us to skillet apple pie for breakfast! YUM!!!
In preparation for a Civil War day that our friends had invited us to be a part of, lots of costume sewing took place.
Lots of sewing. And mistakes, and tears and frustration.
Elianna and Nathan found refuge from the craziness in their Tin Tin books :)

In the end everything worked out and the costumes were completed

James came over with his costume for an authentic photo shoot! :)

On a side note. Hannah and I have this miniature 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle in progress on our dresser. I put my lense cap next to the pieces so you can see how small they are!!!

Anyways, the much anticipated Civil War day arrived. It was a blast dressing up and pretending to be from 150 years ago for a whole day!!

The boys and men marched and drilled under the command of Lieutenant Parish while the girls cooked, made napkins and had tea.

The amazing day was concluded with a english contra dance!

Another part of the past, oh say, past month and a half, has been the smoke. In case you weren't aware, California has been fighting fires all summer long. For some reason our mountain area traps smoke from seemingly all the various fires.
Thankfully it has been clear for the past couple days.

Last weekend was our church camp. It is the highlight of the year for many of us and despite smoke and sickness we had an amazing time together.
Unfortunately my phone died on the first day so I wasn't able to get as many pictures as I would have liked.
On Saturday we had a huge ultimate frisbee game which was lot's of fun.

We also had three lovely community meals. Mr. Parish gave two excellent sermons on marriage and another sermon on worship. You can here all three of them here
So that is what has been happening around here :) In closing here are two pictures of my precious little sister:):)

What have y'all been up to as summer ends and fall begins?
