My Garden

My vegetable garden is starting to do very well. I planted 10 tomato plants (2 grape tomatoes and 8 regular), 1 Armenian cucumber and 1 pickling cucumber (the other one died. :( ) 1 bell pepper, 2 crookneck squash, 6 zucchinis (my mom's idea not mine) 3 pumpkins, 1 basil and 6 marigolds (to keep the bugs away).
The zucchini is growing so quickly you can almost see it grow. We should have a lot of zucchini this year, that means lots of zucchini bread. :)  (Mom speaking...lots of sauteed zucchini)
My pumpkins I started from seeds and they are growing really well. Maybe this year I will be able to make homegrown, homemade pumpkin pie, something I have never been able to do before.
I accidentally picked up a lavender basil at the nursery. It does not seem much different except it has pretty, light purple flowers instead of white ones.

  1. Wow, what a neat garden! You are blessed to have good soil to plant things in :). Sounds like you will have some yummy produce soon!!

  2. Thanks, Haley. It is a blessing but actually we got the soil from some friends of ours because the soil in the garden is very sandy. I hope we get some produce too.
